This gorgeous girl has been coming to us for haircuts over the last few years. Fluffy's haircuts are done under general anaesthetic, meaning she is unconscious for a short period of time. Her muscles are relaxed and the grooming process can take place quickly and efficiently without causing her too much stress. As cats get older they often find it hard to groom themselves and require regular clipping to help prevent hairballs, knots, mats and keep the skin healthy.
The reason our clinic only grooms cats under sedation or general anaesthetic is because even the friendliest of kitty cats may object to being restrained or dislike the sounds and vibrations associated with hair clipping. This may lead to stress, which is detrimental to the cat and the risk of nicks and cuts is therefore higher. Should your furry friend require help in the grooming department, please do not hesitate to contact our friendly team.
